What is the best broadband service for my situation?

I will soon be moving into a house with 4 friends, and need to set up broadband. I need it for my laptop (which does have wi-fi) and my xbox 360. The new USB modem sticks look good but i guess they wouldnt work for the xbox. Just looking for which ones are most convenient and cheapest really. Thanks
